New friend & missed HM

So sunday was the RomaOstia Half Marathon which i had planned to do this year as my first half marathon but in the end had to pull out and was unable to do it. I was disappointed but i know theres always next year so its not to much of a big deal!

I did however watch the race online sunday morning to see if i could see any of my friends who were doing it cross the finish line 🙂 I knew they would be around 2.25 hours or less 🙂

It was amazing to see all the people finishing the race and with some amazingly fast times!

My friend Jess did the 13.1 miles in 2.16 hours! a new PB for her by 13 minutes!! which is awesome!

It was also the very first half marathon for my friend Cami who finished it in 1.59 hours!!! shes so fast! they both are! Im very proud and completely amazed at both of them! And there both very happy with there fast times 🙂

Also my friend Jenny did the 5k race held just after and smashed a PB (personal best!) she completed the 5k in 26 mins 55 seconds! wow! i know so many fast ladies!

Even a friend of Jess’s managed an amazing 2.25 hours on the Half marathon and she had to walk a little bit of it 🙂

Cami is already talking about what races or HM’s we can do! And i cant wait to get a chance to run with her! Even Jess mentioned some amazing sounding HM’s in other parts of Italy which would be alot of fun!

Saturday i finally got to meet Yasmin who i have been talking to since November. Shes a Brit girl who recently moved here a week or so ago. We had been talking online and i had been giving her help and advice about moving to Roma and we hit it off straight away! Shes also a runner!

We met up and got on straight away! I helped her find some bits she was after for her kitchen and we chatted away happily for hours! We had a relaxed lunch and she was really happy when i showed her where she could pick up some spices to make curry! She has even invited me and Alex over for a curry evening 😛

Im really glad i met her shes such a nice person very honest and open and i know she was a bit nervous about moving to Roma. But she is enjoying herself and meeting new people and exploring. She also knows she can call on me if she needs me and shes always welcome at my house.

So saturday was a really great day and we both had alot of fun! We are already talking about meeting up again soon and a trip to Florence is in the works as well!

This post really made me 🙂 It’s a shame you had to miss the half marathon, but there are always other races and it seems like now you might have more people to train or share race day with. Your friends are seriously speedy!
